Commissioning is a new field for the process of development, implementation and delivery of the building.
WB defines commissioning as:
“A systematic process of assuring that a building performs in accordance with the operational program requirements (OPR). The process ensures, through documented verification, that all building systems perform interactively according to the OPR document.”
We also view commissioning as:
“A process that ensures discovery in the design and construction phase of flaws that preclude facility operation in accordance with parameters set forth by the client.”
The WB commissioning program is the quality process for documenting and achieving the performance of systems and equipment to meet the basis of design and prepare facility personnel for maintenance and operation. At the conclusion of a project we provide documented evidence that shows that the systems will consistently meet the standards of the OPR. This philosophy enables WB to deliver facilities that satisfy the most demanding performance expectations.
Retro–Commissioning
While building commissioning is a process of optimizing a building as it takes shape, retro–commissioning is the same science applied to enhance the performance of existing buildings. This may include new structures that are underperforming or have unexpected problems, existing facilities undergoing adaptive reuse, or historic buildings being preserved or retrofitted for new technologies.
CxAlloy™ Philosophy
WorkingBuildings does not take the place of architect or engineer, and we are not a general contractor or equipment reseller. We combine the roles of team builder and facilitator, making sure the client’s needs are fully understood, documented and completed. Our job is to identify problems and remove obstacles in advance.
As the building commissioning authority, we set performance expectations, resolve conflicts and empower each team member to excel. The commissioning process allows the client to define the building, but puts the responsibility for meeting budget, schedule and technical detail in our capable hands.
CxAlloy™ offers our clients an orderly process resulting in a facility that meets their requirements.
"The addition of the WorkingBuildings team has been an incredible value to the success of this project. I just wanted to say what an asset they have been to this project. Their knowledge, disposition, and persistence have helped greatly in keeping this challenging project moving. I hope to have the opportunity to work with them again."
