Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Project Description

The new Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a retractable-roof, multi-purpose stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, that will serve as the home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC. The facility also hosts entertainment, civic, cultural, and commercial events. There is seating for approximately 70,000 people and it features all accommodations necessary to operate a luxury sports arena. WorkingBuildings provided commissioning services for this facility to ensure that the many complex systems interact and operate as intended.

Early in the project we led the effort to develop the Owner’s Project Requirements document. Our scope included the commissioning of over 1500 pieces of equipment within the mechanical, controls, electrical power, lighting, plumbing, fire alarm, and rainwater reclamation systems. This work entailed managing the completion of over 2400 checklists and functional performance tests for the equipment and integrated systems under multiple potential operating scenarios.
